Elf on the Shelf Ideas: Easy DIY Ballet Slippers
Finding cute clothes for your Elf on the Shelf can be time consuming and sometimes pricey. But these easy little ballet slipper style shoes are so cute, you'll make a pair in every color!
- Glitter craft foam
- Regular craft foam
- Small scissors
- 1/8 inch ribbon
- Small gems or other bling from the scrapbooking section of your craft store.
- Needle or piercing tool
- Hot glue gun
- My free ballet slipper shoe pattern (this pattern is for personal use and may not be sold)
Directions:
- Start by printing out my pattern and cut out the shapes.
- Trace the bottom of the shoe onto basic craft foam.
- Trace the other parts of the shoe onto glitter or basic craft foam (your choice!)
- Use your hot glue gun to glue the pieces together. Start by matching up the center of the U-shaped top piece to the center of the toe of the bottom piece and working your way to the back on each side.
- Glue on the bow and add a small gem or other type of bling to the center of the bow, if desired.
- Poke two holes in the U-shaped heel piece (indicated on the pattern) with a piercing tool or needle. Move the needle around in the hole to widen it if needed.
- Cut a length of ribbon and string it through the holes as shown in the pictures. I used my piercing tool to help push it through the holes I created. Cut off any excess ribbon.
These shoes are so easy and perfect for all your elf's shenanigans!
Happy Elfing!
